I love you, but I dare say it is a fallacy. You seem loyal, but you’re not afraid to cross the fine line. I call you my friend, but what does that mean to you? You’re eager to please, but sometimes that comes off as intrusive. You’re ingenious, yet sometimes you seem to lack a brain. Your demeanor is sweet, but your aroma can be quite sour. Your teeth resemble fine china, but perhaps the porcelain throne would be more applicable. You look at me with those earnest eyes, wagging your tail as if trying to summon a tornado.

The Bibliophile with the Big Nose

There is something unique about the smell of a book. An ancient tome yellowed by old age may assault some, but perhaps to the daring reader the smell of dust is a sure sign of a great find and not a foreboding at all. What ancient mysteries might be found within? And then there’s the scent of a fresh new book with crisp pages. Something about it is welcoming and inviting to the eager reader. Perhaps the pages smell of a new and sensational adventure to embark on. What new discoveries are to be made? Or perhaps I sniff books too often. I suppose it may be a habit, but I do not think that I will stop.

It was a Monday. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. There were no premonitions, no bad omens. Just a regular Monday. I could have stayed home and been completely unaware. But I didn’t. I decided to take them both out, but the monster wanted to strangle Frankenstein. Bad monster! ;P (If I can get the time to clean my room, I'll place them somewhere better. Maybe next to my computer monitor.)
